Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking – Bali

Posted on August 4, 2019May 27, 2020 by Thamara

This was the best excursion we did in Bali. We got so many adventure experiences from this. We never thought that It will give such a adventure to our travel life. Okay, I am sure you want to know how this rolled out.

It all started when we were at gym we had to say about our planned trip to bali to our gym coach. He was the person who told us about this trekking. It sounded wow. We thought we must do it. And he also show us some pictures of about his experience. It inspired us. After we went our home we changed our schedules and add mount batur trekking to our to do list in Bali.

Then we planned to how to do it. We saw so many packages on the internet. Finally we booked a package from the TripAdvisor. It was safe and accurate. Among the so many packages we selected mount batur sunrise trekking for one person USD80. This package had all we wanted.

Highlights of the Package

  • Climb mount batur volcano with private guide.
  • Breakfast on the top of the volcano.
  • Door to door round trip private transfer
  • Visit coffee plantation after on the way to hotel

Ok the day came. We were ready to go there. The trip started around 2 am in the morning. That was so early for us wake up. But the trekking thing beats our sleep. Our driver was an Indonesian boy  who was extremely friendly and spoke English very well. He picked up was at 2.30am from our villa in seminyak. Then we went to pick some other couple who were joined with our trekking. The couple was from Australia and helped us so much along the way. Then we were heading directly to mount batur volcano. The ride to the mountain was bumpy and quite narrow. After we came to our drop off point it was around 3 am in local time. Our guide gave us water bottles, flash lights and Stick to climb the mountains.

Then we started our trekking. The hike was not as hard as we thought. Because the guide gave us some brakes. He was so patient to guide us because we were not the fastest climbers. Also there were cool climate around us. We were climbing for around 2 hours. Once we reached the top there were so many tourists and locals came to see the sunrise. And important thing is  mount batur volcano was still active.

We were at the  top around 5 am. The guide gave us fresh hot coffee and hard boil egg cooked from steam of the volcano. That was refreshing for us at that morning. The view of the breakfast at the top was the best view we have ever had. And also I would like to recommend to wear some warm clothes. Because the top the volcano it is extremely windy and cool. And around 5.30 am we could see the sunrise from the mount batur. That moment couldn’t explain. It was the absolutely beautiful morning and I have never seen like this before in my whole life . we enjoyed this trekking lots. And our guide gave us some time to take photos and let us hang out the top for a while. After we enjoyed the these things we started to go down. Hike going down was little bit easy than going up for us. We came back to hotel around 11 am.

There were plenty to see along way your trail. That was highly recommended activity you should have to do once you in bali. And also you don’t want a extra day for this. You can add this trekking to your existing list. So you can save your time of your trip.
